My Experience #
A Major difference when compared to other hotels is that there was no room service. Towels and other clothes can be requested from the front counter and will be hung outside your doors every morning.
The Room #
The toilet is a typical japanese style toilet with a sink. However, there was also a sink outside the toilet near the door. (There are 2 sinks in the room) The room is very similar to the Dormy Inn Premium Kitahama.
There is a corridor between the entrance to the room and the room itself. The room has a slightly worst layout compared to Dormy Inn Premium Kitahama.
Breakfast #
The hotel breakfast was actually quite unique. The main highlight was the Maple Buns and the Eel rice.
The dishes are some of the popular local foods in Hiroshima. The other foods are similar to a typical hotel breakfast.
Ramen Time (at 21:00 to 23:00) #
Similar to Dormy Inn Premium Kitahama, there was free ramen from 21:00 to 23:00 in the hotel breakfast area for all guests. As expected the ramen is quite tasty (similar/same as the one in Dormy Inn Premium Kitahama)
Onsen/Laundry #
The onsen is a great experience. On the guy’s side, there was 1 large hot bath, 2 small warm baths, 1 small cold bath, a sauna and 3 chairs for people to rest in. On the girl’s side, 1 large warm bath, 1 hot tub, 1 small hot bath and a sauna.
There was 2 dryer/washers combination on the guys side with 4 on the girls side. There are 2 shared dryer/washers in the shared area for everyone.
Outside the onsen area, there are lockers to store our items and a seating area with seats to wash up, complete with disposable shavers, combs and other items for cleaning up.
The washing does not cost any money but the drying was 100yen for every 30 minutes.
For the guy’s side, I had no trouble securing a washing machine slot to wash my clothes, before going to the onsen, I will toss my clothes into the washing machine and start it. After I have completed my onsen, it will be just in time to move them into the dryer.
For the guy’s side, during my stay there, the laundry area was mostly unused. However, the girls side is usually more crowded and the shared area is usually occupied.
Transport reservation #
Hiroshima does not have any subway systems within the city. Traveling within Hiroshima is mostly by bus and tram. As a result traveling to different places will take longer than usual.
The transport to Hiroshima station can be reserved. There are fixed timings for the reservation. For more information, you can ask the front counter.
The van seats about 9 people. The boot space also needs to be reserved.
The van will stop at the other Dormy Inn at Hiroshima before making its way to the station.
Conclusion #
Overall, it is a good location if you want to have the onsen experience while staying in hotels.
