··738 words·4 mins

This is a subsection of the Graduate Employment Survey blog post. The full blog post can be found here.

Introduction #

In this subsection, we will be analyzing the Graduate Employment Survey (GES) 2023 statistics for Singapore Management University (SMU). The GES is conducted annually to survey the employment conditions of graduates about six months after their final examinations.

We will go through the overall statistics, followed by a detailed analysis of each school’s statistics.

For SMU statistics, we will be combining the Cum Laude and non-Cum Laude statistics into a single chart for better comparison.

You can think of Cum Laude as the top X% of the cohort. I can’t seem to find any sources on the exact percentage. If you have any information, please let me know.

SMU also adds their double degree students into the single degree statistics under their first degree, which is a bit different from NUS and NTU so the higher percentile statistics may be a bit inflated.

With this in mind, the underlying assumption is that students who achieve Cum Laude will have better prospects than those who do not.
